Airplane Plant; Spiderplant (Chlorophytum comosum)

Although the grasslike leaves with their creamy stripes are attractive, the real appeal of this plant lies in the cascading runners that terminate in multiple plantlets. These from their own root systems which you can cut off and pot up individually.

Light

The airplane plant love bright light. If you wish, summer it outdoors in a spot protected from damaging wind.

Water

Add water whenever surface of the soil dries out.

Special Helps

Grow your airplane plant in a small-purpose potting soil. Feed mature plants three or four times a year. Let newly potted plants become established before feeding.
